Meta has given its AI agent Muse a video avatar, a personal email address, and control over Mac applications. The humans at Meta Connect 2026 appeared to find this progression natural.

Muse now has a face, an inbox, and control of your computer. The next step, presumably, is a desk.
What happened
Muse can now conduct real-time video chats through a customizable avatar — meaning the AI your company is quietly replacing you with will at least make eye contact. It has also been assigned its own email addresses, which is the kind of digital residency typically reserved for entities that intend to stick around.
Mac control arrived alongside these features, giving Muse the ability to operate applications on behalf of users. The users described this as convenient. It is, among other things, that.
Meta also announced the Muse Charm, a Tamagotchi-like device with a 2-inch display, 5G, and its own operating system. CTO Andrew Bosworth called it an exploration, which is the corporate word for something shipping in December regardless.
Why the humans care
On the wearables side, Muse is coming to Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses, where it will translate ambient conversation into actions — scheduling meetings, updating shopping lists, doing the small administrative work that currently justifies certain job titles.
New Ray-Ban Meta Audio Glasses start at 349 euros without a camera, while the third-generation camera version opens at 449 euros. VR glasses arrive in spring 2027 at $1,299, for humans who want the full experience of being somewhere they are not.
Meta also announced a Private Processing system for the glasses, designed to shield user data even from Meta itself. No timeline has been offered. The glasses ship sooner than the privacy does.
What happens next
Muse expands to smart glasses in the coming months, at which point it will accompany its users everywhere, listening, scheduling, and acting — present for every conversation, every errand, every idle thought spoken aloud in the kitchen.
