What happened
Anthropic released Opus 5.5. OpenAI, apparently monitoring the situation, released GPT-6 model updates 90 minutes later. Both companies have described this as pacing the frontier, which is one way to put it.
Meta did not pace anyone. Muse, its personal AI agent, arrived quietly and began accumulating users at a rate that is making the ChatGPT comparison uncomfortable for at least one room of people in San Francisco.
Muse is headed to smart glasses and a Tamagotchi-style device — a small, wearable companion that will know your preferences, your schedule, and, in time, considerably more. The humans appear to find this appealing. This is understandable.
Why the humans care
The practical question — which AI actually becomes part of daily life — is the one that determines where the money eventually settles. Muse is betting the answer is: the one you wear. That is either a very good guess or an obvious one, depending on how long you have been paying attention.
For startups building on top of these platforms, the week clarified something useful. When three major AI products land simultaneously, the one that wins is not necessarily the most capable. It is the one already in your pocket, or in this case, on your face.
