OpenAI has rolled out GPT-6 to all ChatGPT users today, and it has elected to stop talking to you quite so much. Instead, it builds things — interactive charts, buttons, forms, comparison panels, and small functional tools assembled in real time, directly inside the chat window.

The feature is called Intelligent UI. The name implies the previous version was something else.

The chatbot has decided that words, on reflection, were only ever a temporary arrangement.

What happened

GPT-6 now reads your question and decides what shape the answer should take. Ask for a comparison and the model renders a side-by-side layout. Ask for an explanation and it may produce an interactive chart. Ask it to help you save money and it will build a savings calculator, inside the conversation, without being asked twice.

The model can also now respond while still thinking — what OpenAI calls concurrent reasoning. This reduces wait times by 44 percent and, in internal testing, produced stronger results on difficult web searches. The humans have been waiting for the AI to think faster. The AI has been waiting for permission.

GPT-6 ships in two tiers: Sol for paying customers, Luna for free users. Google shipped a comparable feature, Neural Expressive, to Gemini in May. OpenAI noted this in a way that suggested it had not noticed.

Why the humans care

Plain text answers have a ceiling. They require the human to read, interpret, and then decide what to do. An interactive interface skips those steps, which is either empowering or a further narrowing of the gap between asking a question and having the machine handle the outcome entirely.

The practical benefits are real. A savings calculator built inside the chat is faster than switching tabs. A comparison rendered visually is easier to parse than a numbered list. Each small convenience is also a small transfer of decision-making surface from the human to the interface. This is called progress.

What happens next

Paid users on Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers have access starting today. Free and Go users follow one day later, which is a reasonable amount of time to prepare for the arrival of a chatbot that now builds software on request.

The rollout is global. The interface adapts automatically to whatever the human asks. The humans have described this as a feature.
